Who Is The Baddie Mommy?

In loving memory of my sister-in-law, Shannon, who definitely would have been a Baddie Mommy. ❤️

Some of you may know me, but I’m pretty sure most of you don’t 🤣. So, allow me to introduce myself!

I’m Lauren Ashley Corbett, and believe it or not, I’m not new to this blogging thing.

Back in 2016, while studying fashion merchandising at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), I started my first fashion blog, The Fashtorious L.A.C. Honestly, I just wanted a little corner of the internet where I could show off my personal style and express my love for fashion.

Fast-forward to 2020, when the pandemic hit and I decided to tap into my entrepreneurial side. That’s when Jeweltorious came along.

To my surprise, Jeweltorious started getting some buzz thanks to positive customer reviews. I even had The Wall Street Journal and Cosmopolitan Magazine reach out to me! Now, did I actually make it into either publication? No. 😂 But the fact that my little business was getting noticed was exciting enough for me!

And apparently, since I can’t sit still when it comes to creative ideas 😂, that wasn’t my last venture. There was my podcast, Self Love Baddie, where I talked about my personal self-love journey. Then, Shop Lauren Corbett, which is my clothing and accessories brand, which is still around today — just getting a little makeover of its own 💅🏾

Now, fast-forward to today, and life looks a whole lot different than it did back in 2016.

I’m a mother, a fiancee, and a full-time 9-to-5 girlie, and somehow, I still have a million business ideas floating around in my head.

And while I absolutely love this chapter of my life, becoming a mother has made me think differently about who I am, what I want, and how I express myself.

Which brings me to The Baddie Mommy…

After becoming a mom, I started noticing something about motherhood content that kept popping up on my social media feeds. I was seeing stay-at-home moms, wealthy moms with nannies, and mom entrepreneurs who had already built successful businesses and were living their dream lives.

And don’t get me wrong, I love that for them! But I couldn’t help wondering… where are the moms like me?

You know, the moms who go to the office early in the morning, come home to their families, and somehow still have a million dreams and business ideas they’re trying to bring to life. The moms who are trying to balance motherhood, relationships, careers, and their own personal goals without completely losing themselves in the process.

Because that’s where I am right now.

I’m not a millionaire and I haven’t built some wildly successful business (yet!), and I definitely don’t have everything figured out.

But I didn’t want to wait until I had it all together to start sharing my journey.

So, I created The Baddie Mommy.

A space where I can document this chapter of my life, share my experience, and hopefully connect with other women who are navigating their own versions of motherhood.

And before anyone asks, being a Baddie Mommy isn’t about looking glamorous 24/7, having the perfect body, or always having your life together.

To me, a Baddie Mommy is a woman who embraces motherhood without forgetting that she’s still her own person.

She’s a mother, but she’s also a woman with dreams, interests, opinions, desires, and an identity outside of her children.

Some days she’s dressed up and feelin’ herself. Other days she’s exhausted, overstimulated, and just counting the minutes until bedtime 😂

And guess what? She’s still a Baddie Mommy either way.

That’s what this space is about. I’ll be honest: some of my posts will be vulnerable, some will be funny, and some might downright piss you off 😂 But one thing I can promise is that I’ll always keep it real.

I’m not here pretending to have all the answers. I’m figuring things out as I go, and I figured I might as well bring y’all for along for the ride.

Mommy First. Baddie Always 💋💎
